About Divas
Nine years ago, just after September 11, a group of women began meeting in San Francisco to talk about what was happening in the world and to better understand it. We met monthly over dinner and wine to discuss hot topics of the times. Today, members of that same group still meet, and the friendships we've developed are invaluable.
For a few years now, we've been emailing The Weekly Diva, a popular e-newsletter that explained one hot topic in the news--just enough to survive any cocktail party conversation.
And now, we're going back to the basics, launching a network of discussion groups across the country, where women meet in person monthly to discuss real and important things happening all around us. We hope you'll join us in this national conversation!
Our Mission
Discussion Divas is a real and virtual community of women who are passionate and concerned about the world in which they live and who crave a forum to discuss hot topical issues.
The Divas network, which is national in scope but local in discussion, is both online and face-to-face as like-minded women meet each month across the country to talk about a selected current event. These forums give women a voice that is distinct from the one they use in the boardroom, on the soccer field or in the bedroom.
The Diva voice is one that has been crystallized through discussion, strengthened through informed debate and empowered by a national network.
